The Department of Business Administration of Tunghai University was established in 1973. Our department is known for its liberal and democratic atmosphere and for cultivating the talents of many top performers in Taiwan’s business sector. We consider our department not only an education unit, but also a big affectionate family. Currently the department has eighteen full-time faculty members and more than ten inter-departmental supporting faculty members. In addition we also have fourteen part-time instructors from industry with a significant amount of experience in the field.

 

To elevate the quality of business administration education, we established the Graduate School for Business Administration in 1982. This became the first graduate school in central Taiwan. In 2006, we launched our EMBA program to integrate business resources into course planning and to offer students courses that meet the needs of the modern economic and social environment. The EMBA program is designed for working professionals to further enhance their executive ability. 

 

We now have more than eight thousand alumni and have set up an alumni association. Most of our alumni hold executive or managerial positions in various industries throughout Taiwan and other parts of the world.

 

In 2007, our department moved to new premises- the College of Business Administration – located on Tunghai’s second campus. The new premises provide our students and staff with an advanced learning environment of the highest quality. The new facilities, innovative space and open academic atmosphere create an ideal learning environment. The opening of the College of Business Administration marked a new chapter for our department. As the department’s director I have the following goals:

 

．To uphold the university’s tradition, of humanitarian and social responsibility.

． Fully utilize Tunghai’s inter-departmental resources to provide the best possible education.

 

． Cultivate our students to become global managers possessing the ability needed to succeed in their field.
